MedicineShots is built to keep your medical routine on your own phone. This page describes, in plain terms, what the app does and does not do with your data. It reflects the app’s real behaviour; nothing here is aspirational.
Signing in
You sign in with a Google account and choose a display name and an @username (so a loved one can find you if you ever link). For Standard use that is all the account does: it opens the app and keeps your data attached to you if you reinstall. We keep the email address on the account, the display name and the username; we do not read anything else from your Google account.
Standard (free) use is fully offline
If you use MedicineShots only for yourself, your medicines, reminders and dose history stay on your device. A local database on the phone is the source of truth, so a reminder fires exactly the same whether or not you have a network connection. Nothing about your health is transmitted to us.
Proof photos are never retained
With Pro, a caregiver can require a photo of the taken medicine as proof. That image exists only until a decision is made: the instant the caregiver approves orre-nags, the photo is deleted. Images are never kept, never used for any other purpose, and never sold.
Pro linking & entitlements
A caregiver link requires Pro on both phones and exchanges only what is needed to deliver nags, proof requests, decisions, and missed-dose alerts, plus shared adherence history. Entitlements are server-authoritative — the app cannot grant itself Pro — and secrets are never embedded in the app. Pro is ₹100 / year in India and US$4.99 / year elsewhere.
Payments
Pro is paid through Razorpay (outside India also via PayPal inside the same checkout). The card, UPI, bank or PayPal details you enter at checkout go to Razorpay or PayPal, not to us; we receive only a confirmation that a payment or subscription succeeded, its identifier, the amount and currency, and — for subscriptions — the renewal date, which is what turns Pro on and off on your account. Razorpay's own privacy policy governs what it holds. We keep payment records for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires.
Emergency card, voice, journal — on the phone only
The emergency card (blood group, allergies, conditions, contacts), any reminder message you record, the medicine photos, the health journal, cycle tracking, and the Throne Log are stored only on your phone and are never uploaded. The card lives in the phone’s device-protected storage so it can be shown on the lock screen and before the first unlock after a restart — that is its purpose. The app asks for the phone permission only so a helper can call a contact from the card without unlocking, the microphone only while you record a reminder, and the wallpaper permission only if you switch on the painted lock-screen card.
Distribution
MedicineShots is distributed as a sideloaded .apk fromdl.binarypoems.com, not through the Google Play Store. Verify the download against the SHA-256 checksum published on thedownload section.
