About MedicineShots
MedicineShots is an Android app that makes a medicine dose hard to ignore: each reminder is a full-screen alarm that keeps re-alerting until the dose is marked taken, and — for people caring for someone else — can ask for a photo of the taken medicine that the caregiver reviews from their own phone.
Who we are
MedicineShots is made and operated by BinaryPoems (OPC) Private Limited, a small independent software company registered in India and based in Kolkata, India. We build a handful of focused products under the BinaryPoems name; MedicineShots is one of them. There is no outside funding, no advertising, and no data brokerage behind it — the only revenue is the Pro subscription described on the pricing section.
Why it exists
The app started as something built for one family, for a person who kept missing doses of a long-term prescription. Ordinary reminder apps were too easy to swipe away. What was needed was an alarm that would not give up, and a way for the person who cares to know — gently, and with proof — that the medicine was actually taken. Everything in the product still follows from that: the insistence, the photo proof, the missed-dose alerts, and the emergency card that shows on the lock screen.
How the product is run
- Distributed from our own website as a signed
.apk, currently version 3.11, not through an app store. The download page publishes the file's SHA-256 checksum so you can verify what you install. Updates are offered inside the app. - Free for yourself, paid to care for others. The Standard tier works fully offline and stays free. Pro is a yearly plan that unlocks linking with a loved one and the caregiver tools. Payments are processed by Razorpay (and PayPal outside India); we never see your card, UPI or PayPal details.
- Consent on both sides. A caregiver link only exists when both people accept it, both people hold Pro, and either person can ask to end it.
- Nothing retained that need not be. Proof photos are deleted the instant a caregiver makes a decision. Health notes, the emergency card, and recordings never leave the phone. See the privacy page.
- Not a medical device. MedicineShots is an organisational tool. It does not give medical advice, and it cannot guarantee that a phone will ring — theterms say this plainly.
